Local favorite bar that attracts a diverse crowd from cowboys to college students. Housed in a historic Spanish colonial building the thick concrete walls are packed each weekend with Guadalajara's dancing gays amongst giant video screens.
Nice.....
Good music, love the TV screens, varied guys. Something for everyone. But most importantly, very fun atmosphere. Not trying to be anything more than what it is. Highly recommended.
Toma tequila con buena música
Waz the fuss
Dorr man was rude but bar staff very nice.
Nothing to write home about the venue. Surprisingly for a gay bar it has not gay flag displayed. Can't help but wonder reviewers who talked up the place have had many experience travelled around the world. Any comparison made to S.F. makes one wonder if the city is worth the visit. Then again, London, probably has the best gay scene in town, next to Sydney.
Worst Service Ever
I'm an easy going guy who loves wine, so when I saw all the wine glasses I asked for a Vino Blanco and the bar tender wasn't sure if they had it and had another bartender help out... I smiled and again asked for Vino Blanco... he said they didn't have any... I asked for Vino Rojo. He said they didn't have that either... I asked how come they have all the wine glasses if they don't have wine... he didn't understand and got the manager.... I asked again for wine he told me they didn't have any, so I asked why they have all the wine glasses? He said because I like them and walked away. After that no bar tender would speak to me! I figured they would get over it and went to dance. When I returned to the bar, (different section) no bartender would take my drink order... so I left.
The bar facility was rather nice, and the crowd was a nice mix, It's a shame the manager has a stick in his ass....
great starter bar
went on a monday night. fun music and cheap drinks. i got a kick out of the gay rancheros. seemed safe although the hotel advised otherwise
Excelente lugar para pasar un rato agradable.
Excelente lugar para desestresarse un poco y conocer gente.
Making room to dance!
The music is as diverse as the crowd - from 90s Latin pop to Celia Cruz and salsa, this cantina lounge had a pretty good crowd on a Sunday. No dancefloor but that didn't stop us from busting a move.
Best trained staff in Guadalajara!
California's was just opening when I moved to this city about 4 years ago to open my own business. After many, many visits to this great city and to all of the fun bars...I always eventually return "home" to where peole are made to feel welcome..always. The bartenders and servers are trained very well, more so than any other Gay bar I have been to in the city. That in itself is impressive. It is also the reason that it rarely, if ever has a slow night! It has expanded at least 4 times since it opened. Great job..all of you! James .... The Dickinson Guest House
